Reliable West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee has suggested on Twitter that attacker Lucas Perez should be handed a start against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, but not all Irons fans agree.
He hasn’t really impressed in many of the games but has found the net. As an ex Arsenal player, it might be a good time to give him a start against Spurs next week. In theory (with VAR) he scored twice at weekend so probably deserves a go but such a big game to do it in https://t.co/YGeEmW8SPi

Following an impressive cameo from the substitutes’ bench in the 2-2 draw with Leicester City at the weekend when he scored one and should have had another which was disallowed for offside, the Spaniard is surely in contention for a spot on the team-sheet.
With Marko Arnautovic struggling for form, Manuel Pellegrini has a decision to make against their arch-rivals in north London, and Ex believes via his Twitter account that the former Arsenal man should get the nod in what is going to be a big game.
Some Hammers supporters that responded don’t agree with his theory however, with some pointing out that he has struggled to make an impact when he has been given a start by his Chilean manager previously this term.
To be fair to them, the 30-year-old has generally been more effective when he has entered the pitch as a substitute, as was the case in the final 12 minutes against the Foxes.
He does have six goals in just 695 minutes on the pitch for West Ham though, which suggests he is worth another punt in the XI.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
The problem is whenever we started him he was ineffective too. Like Chicharito better off the bench. Just does not seem we have an answer. Just like the rest of the Team you can’t tell what you will get

For the money we paid for him I would keep him as an impact sub, pointless getting rid for 3-5m when he can score a goal – remember we’ve had Zaza up front!! ??
Hernandez / Carroll / Arnie will likely all go so which 3 do we bring in to replace?

On the odd occasion he has done well and put in the effort it was followed by a start where he was diabolical.

I honestly think Perez morning n a similar way to Hernandez is better off the bench

Hasn’t impressed for me, but didn’t Nobes say he was the best finisher at the club? May not be the best in other aspects but if we make chances he will take them, but we don’t make enough chances.
