This week Sheffield Wednesday boss Steve Bruce revealed that talks would commence over the future of Jordan Rhodes, according to quotes per the Sheffield Star.
Rhodes joined Wednesday in January 2017 on loan before completing a £10m permanent deal to the club in the following summer.
However he’s a player who hasn’t exactly set the world alight in Yorkshire and as a result, Owls fans are hoping they get rid of him at the end of the season.
Reacting to news that discussions would take place regarding the forward, one Wednesday supporter said he was at the top of their list to move on. Another fan claimed it would be a no brainer to cash in on him with the club needing the money.
A further member of the Hillsborough faithful claimed his best days were behind him.
The 29-year-old scored over 20 goals in consecutive seasons for Blackburn but since then has struggled in front of goal. Although he’s netted six goals in just nine league starts this term at Carrow Road, the fact he’s played the majority of his football from the bench shows where his career is at.
This summer has the potential to be a very busy period in regards to transfers for Wednesday with a number of contracts ending at the club.
Here’s what fans have been saying about Rhodes.
I think we have all been longing to see the Huddersfield Rhodes. We have already made a very expensive gamble with his signing. Sometimes you have to draw the line and say thats it. Sorry but its a No from me.

He’s had plenty of chances. Offers nothing outside of the box. He’s top of my list to move on.

Bruce has said he only wants 4 strikers in the squad season. 3 will have to leave & I think Rhodes will be one of them as he still has some transfer value

-He’s been poor 3 seasons in a row.
-We desperately need to bring cash in.
…it’s a no-brainier. Cash in, move on.
The championship has moved on, it’s better, faster, more technically gifted player that are banging in over 20 a season now.

Have to question those who say keep him on what they saw of Rhodes to make that assessment. Slow slow slow

I’d love to be wrong but sadly Rhodes is showing every sign his best days are behind him regardless of the manager.
