Blue Jays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. could be promoted ‘any day’

The long-awaited MLB debut of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. could be coming soon.

That’s the word from Toronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo, who used some caution when making the proclamation.

On the injured list with an oblique injury to start the season, baseball’s top prospect has absolutely been killing it in Triple A for the Buffalo Bisons.

Vlad Jr. is hitting .412 with two homers, six RBI and an absurd 1.324 OPS in five games for Toronto’s top minor-league affiliate.

Toronto’s handling of the prized prospect came under scrutiny following a 2018 season in which he batted .318 with 20 homers, 78 RBIs and a 1.073 OPS across 94 games and four stops in the minors.
