‘Absolutely boss’, ‘Amazing’, ‘So good’ – Lots of LFC fans chuffed to see 2015 signing this week

Joe Gomez made his comeback from injury as a second-half substitute in Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Indeed, Gomez played the final 24 minutes of the quarter-final second leg, which saw the Reds book their spot in the semi-finals of the competition.

It was the defender’s first outing since he fractured his leg against Burnley in the Premier League back in December.

And the 21-year-old’s return at this stage of the campaign is absolutely huge.

Indeed, Gomez – a 2015 arrival from Charlton Athletic – was excellent in the opening months of the campaign.

In fairness to Joel Matip, the 27-year-old has been pretty good in recent weeks, but Gomez and Virgil van Dijk would be Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice pairing when everyone is fit.

As expected, the Liverpool fans were absolutely delighted to see Gomez make his return to the field on Wednesday night.
