‘Brilliant’, ‘Rubbish’ – These Spurs fans are split on Kane replacement

Tottenham Hotspur fans aren’t sure what to make of Fernando Llorente’s performance against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The Spanish striker was picked to start up front by Mauricio Pochettino in the absence of Harry Kane.

The England captain could miss the remainder of the season after sustaining yet another ankle injury, this time against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Spurs won without him on Saturday though, as Lucas Moura netted a hat-trick in a 4-0 victory at the new stadium.

Llorente had a number of chances to get himself on the scoresheet too but spurned each of them, hitting the crossbar and seeing two of his six shots blocked, per WhoScored.

And Spurs fans have been mixed on his performance, with some insisting that he contributed a great deal to the club’s victory, and others finding it hard to believe that he failed to find the net.
