The turnaround at Sheffield Wednesday since Jos Luhukay departed has been quite something. They’ve gone from looking incredibly mediocre to now challenging for a play-off place in the Championship.
The majority of that has been down to Steve Bruce who has lost just one of his 13 games since taking over the club.
His only defeat came against former employers Aston Villa last weekend but they bounced back in terrific style by beating Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Tuesday evening.
It was a win that earned the Owls manager heaps of praise as Wednesday fans took to Twitter to applaud Bruce and look forward to what the team may be able to achieve next season.
One fan said that something special seemed to be around the corner and hoped more good memories were made under Bruce. Another called the club’s win over Forest the new manager’s biggest since he came in.
A further supporter praised the turnaround over the last few months whilst others focused on how the club would likely have lost Tuesday’s game had Luhukay been in charge, rather than Bruce.
Wednesday currently sit in ninth position in the table, just three places behind the final play-off spot.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
What a time for #SWFC and hopefully more of those memories can be created under Bruce. Something special seems to be right around the corner. WAWAW?⚪️?⚪️ UTO. Let’s go and cause problems at Leeds on Saturday.

Considering the team selection tonight and our starting midfield id say that tonights result was the biggest of the season for steve bruce. #swfc

If Steve Bruce can get us within 4pts of playoffs in 13 games, I cannot wait to see what he does with a full season in front of him!!! #swfc

This season has gone from the frustration of the club is a mess, to the frustration of what if Jos had gone earlier. Still amazing turnaround under Bruce, we will go up under him. #SWFC

That line up tonight under Luhukay gets beat without a doubt. (Westwood wouldn’t be playing) But Bruce knows what it takes what a job so far. #swfc

If this was a match under Jos, with virtually the same lineup, that’d be a defeat of around the same magnitude.
What Bruce has done is magnificent in terms of turning this side around, from relegation candidates to potential promotion chasers.

Whatever happens now we have a spring in our step again at #swfc. The summer will be an interesting time with contracts up, I’m actually excited to see what SBs recruitment policy is going to be. Top bloke, what a change in only a few months.
